To celebrate the grand opening of Sativa Science Club (Portlands first budtender training institute and cannabis science community) We’ve decided to offer the people of Portland the same great employee training series that we provide our budtender teams! This is a one time only event and seats are filling up fast.

Join Sativa Science Club Founder Mary J Poppins and Portlands Budtender of the year Emma Chasen for a foundational study of Budtender Compliance and client care. Together we will explore:

*Common disorders people Use cannabis to treat
*Customer service & empathetic patient care
*Best retail practices
*Compliance + marijuana worker permit

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

You must be 21+ with valid photo ID to attend this event.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Jupiter Hotel is conveniently located off of East Burnside Street near a variety of public transportation options. While the Jupiter can not accommodate parking for this particular event, off street parking is provided free of charge in the surrounding area.

What can I bring into the event?

In an effort to comply with the Clean Air Act Entry Level BudTender Etiquette is a NON-SMOKING EVENT but adults age 21+ are welcome to bring their own non-smokables (in accordance with Oregon State Law) and may partake of topicals, tincture, or edibles at their own discretion. We will be sharing a great deal of useful information so be sure to pack your laptop or a notebook and a pen as well.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not have to print off your ticket. In fact, we prefer that you save the paper. But you will be asked to provide your photo ID along with proof of ticket purchase upon entry.

Learn how to carve ice!

— No experience needed — You will learn basic steps to subtractive carving using various chisels.

We will carve a small themed ice sculpture with step by step instruction.
Each person will be given a 20x10x10in block of clear ice and a set of tools to work from.
You will learn about the properties of ice, tool safety, and carving techniques.

Ice isn’t a messy medium, but it is slippery and wet! So prepare with work shoes and clothes, they will get a little wet.
We will provide safety glasses and gloves.

You are encouraged to take your project home! Bring a cooler with a 20x10x10in space to hold the ice sculpture.
Store in your freezer and display during your next social event!
Water and light snacks are provided. BYOB friendly – Must be 18+, Ages 13-17 must be accompanied by a trusted guardian.
